V.I.P Max Protect Bootie STATIC rubber-coated dog booties with a NON-STRETCH VELCRO STRAP.
NOTE: Manufacturer’s updated model with a NON-STRETCH Velcro strap for better durability. Except for the change in the Velcro strap, the bootie is the same as before.
These booties are made of flexible cut-resistant fabric with a durable anti-slip rubber coating on top for maximum grip. V.I.P. rubber booties are intended for bare ground and offer up to 10x better grip compared to traditional fabric booties.
- Sold in packs of 4
- Because of the rubber coating, they do not get wet easily, so they are also great for dogs with, for example, paw pad wounds, nail injuries, paw bandages, or furunculosis.
- Due to excellent grip, also suitable for, for example, working dogs or dogs afraid of slippery floors.
- A very popular bootie for sled dogs during bare ground training: more durable than fabric booties.
- Specifically designed for bare ground: sand, gravel, asphalt, etc.
- Fairly narrow and tall in shape. Therefore, best suited for long-legged breeds.
- NOTE: If you notice the end of the Velcro strap becoming fuzzy/frayed during use, it’s best to cut a new clean cut surface immediately and seal the end by burning it.
Surface material
The surface material of the rubber booties is flexible rubber. Due to the manufacturing technique, there may be some irregularities in the rubber coating of the bootie in certain spots (e.g., small pinpoint holes in the rubber surface or other unevenness). The soft surface rubber also wears with use: for example, gravel, sharp ice, branches, etc. can cause wrinkles on the surface. These do not prevent the use of the bootie: the bootie's lifespan can be extended by moving the more worn side above the paw. Lightweight so-called sled dog booties are always consumable items, so we recommend also having spare booties ready.
The method of applying the rubber coating shrinks the bootie, so factory booties may not be exactly the same size. Size differences can be evened out by stretching smaller booties to their full length.
The antislip rubber surface provides excellent grip on bare ground. If you are specifically looking for a rubber-coated bootie suitable for winter conditions, check out the fiberglass-rubber coated Non-stop dogwear Protector Booties.
Determining the size of the V.I.P Max Protect rubber bootie
Measure the circumference of your dog's paw at its widest point while the dog is standing (weight on the paw). Divide this measurement by two and compare it to the bootie width. In borderline cases, choose a bootie that is too loose rather than too tight (the dog's paw needs room to expand when walking). If your dog has a significant size difference between front and back paws, consider getting two different size sets.
Size and color code update 2024
The manufacturer updated the model and sizes in 2024. They introduced a new intermediate size S between the former XS size (pink edge) and S/M size (red). At the same time, the XS size color code changed from pink to white. The old S/M size is now best matched by size M (both with red edges).
All new booties have a squarer shape at the tip than the old ones, and the width may also differ, generally being larger.
