Tow Belt Selection Guide

Non-stop CaniX Belt 2.0 – a top-rated running belt for canicross, hiking, and active everyday life

Non-stop CaniX Belt 2.0 is one of the most popular canicross belts on the market. It is designed to maximize the runner’s ergonomics, performance, and comfort – whether you are a beginner canicross enthusiast, an active trainer, or a hiker with a dog.

The 2024 update brought practical improvements to this 2.0 version belt: a zippered back pocket for small accessories and even more reliable slip-through front attachments. The result is a more durable and functional canicross belt for year-round use.

Ergonomic pulling point – saves the back and improves running technique

The very popular CaniX Belt has a low-placed pulling point. The dog’s leash is not attached up at the traditional belt height, but in the CaniX canicross belt, the pull is directed to the human’s hips at the level of the buttocks. Thanks to this, the core/back does not arch, and your posture stays balanced even if a strong dog is pulling.

The CaniX Belt thus provides excellent support and "lift" to the runner (or walker) thanks to the low-placed pulling point. The difference compared to so-called more traditional canicross belt models is significant!

The structure of the CaniX Belt and the low-placed pulling point ensure the well-being of your back and help maintain proper running technique. This is important not only for your health but also for performance. With the CaniX Belt, the stride lightens significantly compared to belts where the pull comes from higher up near the hip bones.

  • the back stays in a neutral position
  • the core does not arch
  • running posture stays balanced
  • the stride lightens and rolls better

Moving leash attachment point – no belt twisting

The laterally sliding attachment point on the front of the belt follows the dog’s movement.
The belt does not twist around the hips even if the dog pulls sideways on the trail, during overtaking, or in rough terrain. This increases comfort and safety both while running and hiking.

Versatile: competitions, running, hiking, and trekking

The CaniX is made to meet all competition rules and has been developed in collaboration with the world’s best dog runners for dog runners of all levels.

In addition to running, the CaniX is also excellent for everyday walks, hiking, and trekking. Thanks to the lightweight flat materials and the attachment point placed low on the belt, it is also suitable for use alongside backpacks and rucksacks.

Features of the Non-stop CaniX Belt 2.0 canicross belt

  • The CaniX Belt 2.0 weighs only 280 grams and is almost unnoticeable when worn
  • The breathable material of the belt makes the CaniX Belt comfortable to wear in all temperatures.
  • The carabiner for attaching the pulling rope on the CaniX belt can slide sideways on the front of the belt. Thanks to this, the belt does not twist around the user when running on curves or if the dog pulls sideways, for example, while hiking.
  • Very versatile adjustment options
  • There is a zippered pocket on the back of the belt where you can store, for example, keys and poop bags.
  • The belt has an aluminum reliable carabiner (pull strength 4 kN), to which the pulling rope is easy to attach.
  • If you want to participate in dog skiing competitions with the CaniX Belt, the carabiner must be replaced with a so-called panic hook, e.g. Non-stop Quick Release Snap Hook. Changing the carabiner is easy.

Non-stop CaniX Belt 2.0 canicross belt size selection

The CaniX Belt is versatile in adjustment and is available in three different sizes.

The belt is more comfortable to wear if the lower, wider rear part* that comes to the height of the buttocks extends slightly towards the front thighs and thus does not end just at the hip bones on the side. So check the width of the lower rear part in the size chart and try to model it on yourself.

When choosing a size, you should also consider whether you plan to use the belt in winter with thicker clothing. In borderline cases, it is usually better to choose a larger size: the tightening options in CaniX are excellent.

Is the Non-stop CaniX Belt also suitable for dog skiing?

Yes, you can definitely ski with CaniX! In practice, the lower pulling point of the CaniX, that is, the lower cross strap, somewhat limits the effective lateral push in skate skiing, so if you are a very active dog skiing enthusiast, you might want to choose a belt for skiing where the leash attaches higher, around the height of your hip bones. Such belts include, for example, the Non-stop Trekking Belt and the Non-stop Loype Belt.
